Session structure and approach
Private Class is delivered one-on-one as a virtual session where your instructor leads, watches, and cues you in real time. Expect an intake conversation and movement review at the first meeting so the instructor can tailor the session to your needs and available space at home. The format is focused on individual attention rather than group pacing.
Because the instruction is virtual, outcomes depend on clear video, two-way communication, and your engagement during the session. The instructor adapts the sequence to what you can do safely in your environment and gives verbal and visual cues. Those trade-offs—greater convenience versus the absence of hands-on correction—shape how each session is delivered.
Scheduling around local life
Sole Pilates schedules virtual private classes with Locust Valley rhythms in mind: many clients arrive from commutes on the LIRR or local highways, so early-morning and after-work times are popular. Family-focused schedules create high demand for evening and weekend slots, which the studio looks to accommodate when possible.
Seasonality also affects availability: virtual private sessions are busiest in December, January and February when residents prefer high-quality instruction from home during colder weather and resolution season. Planning ahead for those months improves your chance of getting preferred times, especially evenings and weekends.
What to prepare at home
Prepare a stable internet connection, a clear area roughly the size of a yoga mat, and comfortable clothing that allows movement. Have a chair or firm surface nearby if you use props; instructors will adapt guidance to the equipment or lack of it in your home. Clear lighting and a camera positioned to show your full body help the instructor give accurate cues.
Each private session is priced at $150. Progress from virtual private training is shaped by how regularly you practice between sessions and by clear communication with your instructor about goals and constraints. Expect specific cues, individualized feedback, and follow-up suggestions to make the most of the focused one-on-one time.
